You can receive advice about education, training and job opportunities from qualified careers advisors.

Free of charge! 'Advice sessions' are informal, one-to-one and usually last for about half an hour. The session will help you to confirm your choices and identify positive progression routes in learning and work. At the end of the session you will receive a written record of your current situation, what you need to do next and details of contacts that will help you progress your action plan.

• Advise on job search methods CV, interview skills, applications for support or referral to additional services;
• Know what is and is not available;
• Discuss alternative learning and employment; 
• Identifying possible progression paths, personalising your options;
• Interpret information on learning and work;
• Tailor their advice to your needs;
• Help you to use decision making tools;
• Help you to link your interests and/or skills to jobs;
• Interpret Labour Market Information and Intelligence (LMI);
• Identify any potential literacy, numeracy and language basic skills needs;
• Refer you to other sources of help;
• Advise on finance and other support available, such as Level 2 Entitlement and the Adult Learning Grant;
• Advise you about available support if you are facing redundancy.
