    Nextstep service is free of charge to people aged 20 or over and do not hold a 'level 2 qualification' or higher (less than 5 GCSEs). If you are not eligible for a free advice session - use this web site to help you progress in learning and work. Or you can contact 'learndirect' who can give you advice over the phone.

    Skills for Life

    "The ability to read, write and speak in English, and to use mathematics at a level necessary to function at work and in society in general."

     

    We all need basic reading, writing and the use of numbers skills literacy and numeracy skills with more and more people needing English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) skills development. ‘Skills for Life’ include those skills needed in our ever changing world of life and work.

     

    nextstep Black Country will support all those people receiving our advice services to identify any potential Skills for Life needs and signpost them to additional services where they may receive additional and more specialist support.
